Personal Interview Preparation Tips

Personal Interview a big aspect of SSB selection Procedure, if you are thinking of just trying your luck in SSB interview then it might work for you. Recommendation in SSB interview depends upon your Interview, If you really had a good interview then your chances are really high. So today i am writing my experience how i prepared my SSB Interview 15 days before my SSB.

Questions Tips for SSB Interview Preparation || What Questions may be asked in SSB

First and foremost, you will enter into the room the Interviewing Officer will be having your performance report and a PIQ form in his hand. He will ask you to sit and have some water or tea. After that he will start asking you questions, now questions may be like this Chest no i can see a pen in you pocket which pen is this and like tell something about yourself!

As you Start Telling he will start catching your weak point like if you said i was captain of my cricket team, he may ask you there are 5 teams and you have to conduct a tournament how many matches will be played in series, as asked by me.

Like if you tell him that your father is farmer he may ask you about rabi or kharif crops. Also if you play cricket he may ask you weight of ball. I was asked 100 meter race record because i have written running as a hobby in my PIQ.

Also if you are an engineer sahab, some technical details he may ask you like what is working principle of plane.

It also matters for which entry you are going for like if you are going for air force then please take a general idea of fighter planes used in Indian Air force and Missiles etc

If you are going for Army then know about rank and sign of officers.

Especially for AFCAT, just study about planes and working principles.

If you are a computer engineer then you should know about the basics of computer like i was asked what is difference between internet and intranet which one will u use in military operations.

Dressing and other Tips:

like most of you have heard that please read your ticket carefully they may ask you journey distance and ticket fare, yes it is true, not only this is sufficient if you have a day journey they may ask you the no of stations that fall during your journey and what you eat in between and how it was.

Plus know about you wear there some of you prefer to wear blackberry or Peter-England, do read about these brands in details. you might be thinking that how long i am writing this post and home many things i have told you to do but its true, they want a officer not a ordinary person.

Also wear good dress, use good pen say Parker pen it lays a good effect, analyse things around you and lastly prepare PIQ with efforts.

Advice : When you are at home some days before your SSB fill your PIQ form, know every point included in it and make a research on it, know about your father occupation and your family well and everything you think can be asked.

SSB Interview Questions for Girl Candidate: Story of Kavita

Girls today i am uploading a SSB story of Kavita who has been successfully recommended this Interview will give you a better idea for Interview. Have faith and confidence in you, You can do it!!

I.O.: Ok, Kavita how are you, how is the city. How was the food?

Ch. No. 6: I am fine sir, Bangalore is very nice city and food was also nice.

I.O.: how was your Psychology Test?

Ch. No. 6: It was very good sir. I completed all pictures and all words I did 58 SRT and I completed self-description.

I.O.: In which part of psychology you did well?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, my WAT was very good.

I.O.: Which word you admire and you write the best sentence?

Ch. No. 6: Sacrifice.

I.O.: What sentence you made?

Ch. No. 6: Major Manoj Pandey sacrificed his life in Kargil War.

I.O.: now, I am going to ask the question from your PIQ. Tell me about your education from 10^th standard to till now. Tell me about your favorite subject and why. Tell me about the teacher you like and about the teacher you don’t like, tell me about the qualities of your favorite teacher and what are qualities you don’t like in the teacher whom you don’t like.

Ch. No. 6: I told all about my education from 10^th to M.Sc with the reference of college, subject and marks. Subject which I like, is mathematics because I feel comfortable and I have interest in maths and my basic concept are clear in it so I rarely face any problem to understand it.

The subject which I don’t like is Organic chemistry. I have less interest in this subject because I feel tough to understand the organic reactions which are important in this subject, and you can also see my number in this subject.

I.O.: What kind of problem you face to understand the reaction?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, particularly the mechanism of every reaction make me confused and some time we need to cram it that is also a problem with chemistry, through other branch [Inorganic and Physical] I like.

I.O.: Now tell me about teacher?

Ch. No. 6: Teacher which I like his name is MR. R.K. Sharma; he was my maths teacher in my graduation. I like him because of his regularity and his great dedication towards his profession.

I.O.: How will you define that he was dedicated?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, he was very punctual and he used to take classes regularly. He also taught other things like the qualities and responsibilities of a good student. I have learnt from him.

About the teacher which I don’t like but remember in graduation my Organic Chemistry teacher Mr. P.K. Srivastava I used to feel problem in his period. Main reason was my less interest towards the subject and he used to ask the questions in class. But I would like to add that only because of that class practice I could clear my B.Sc with Chemistry in good marks.

I.O.: Ok, Kavita now tell me about your hobbies, interest and the game you play, your activities in extracurricular programs and also tell the motivating factor to join Army, for you?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, I like to read poems, quotations, books and newspaper. I have interest in doing yogic exercise. Nowadays I am not a regular player of games but during my school I have taken part in 100 m race and 400 m relay race. I was also in the team of Kho-Kho.

I.O.: Now tell me about your friends with their full reference. Tell me about your family. Your relations with your mother tell me what is your family occupation and motivating factor for you to join Army.

Ch. No. 6: Sir, I have a big friends circle. Some of us are in same field but some have chosen the different way as their career. Like two of my friends Deepika Sharma and Nitin are doing M.C.A. from Delhi. One of my friend Priya Darshanee is in O.T.A and one of my friends is in N.D.A.

I.O.: Kavita tell me two qualities of your friend Deepika Sharma and also about two qualities which she sees in you.

Ch. No. 6: Sir, she is very hard working and dedicated girl and the qualities which she seems in me, she treats me as a binding factor of my friends circle because of my cooperative nature. She also admires my sense of responsibility.

About my family I have three members in my family, my mother, my elder brother an myself. Regarding my father I have lost my father in a very early age that was an accident.

About my relation with my mother, these are very good. I really admire her company as a mother or some time as a friend also. Though she is the only person to look after the family, yet she has to play a role of mother as well as a father also. She makes me disciplined but she also provides such a light environment that I share all my personal with my mother. I still remember how she used to teach me basics. I really like her way to first realize my mistake then her way to make me correct.

I.O.: Tell me about your brother? Your relations with him?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, my brother is two years elder than me. He is doing his M.C.A. from Meerut. He is very cooperative and always helps me in my need like in my study. We enjoy each other company we discuss our matters to each other. We study together some times we enjoy spicy relation when we quarrel. One thing I really admire in him that he is very loving and caring.

I.O.: Kavita what you do to keep yourself fit physically and mentally.

Ch. No. 6: Sir, to keep myself physically and mentally fit I go for morning walk, I do yoga and meditation.

I.O.: How you do meditate what is the effect of it?

Ch. No. 6: For meditation first I select the good time and open place. Generally, I do early in the morning around 4 o’clock. I keep my mind free to absorb the inputs. I am in learning process, I am increasing my capacity to listen soundness in my surroundings. With this exercise concentration becomes strong ad mainly it is the exercise of mind and it gives good effect on mind and body co-ordination.

I.O.: Kavita tell about your village, what is the difference between Sardhana and Bangalore?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, my village Kakkaypur is small village which is situated at Meerut Kernal State Highway no. 82. It is 21 km far from district Meerut. Population of my village is around 5000, main crops are sugar cane and wheat. Basic occupation in my village is farming. Regarding the infrastructure of my village is concerned there are a primary health centre and a junior high school. For further study we have to go either to the town Sardhana which is just 5 km far from my village or to the district Meerut. Nearest market of my village is Sardhana. It is a famous place because of St. Mary’s Church. It is the top most Church of Asia.

I.O.: Who built this Church?

Ch. No. 6: sir, Begum Samru.

I.O.: When it was made and tell me the name of Begum Samru’s Husband?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, it was made in 1822, and sorry Sir, I don’t know her husband’s name.

I.O.: Ok. Any member in your family belongs to Army?

Ch. No. 6: No sir.

I.O.: So why do you want to join Army?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, mainly to join Army, I am motivated with Kargil war that time I was in 9^th standard. I have seen the live telecast on T.V. I also read in newspaper about the tough efforts of our Army and about their achievements. And sir, I am from the area Meerut which has 2^nd largest Army cantonment. I have seen the discipline of army soldiers, dress and its passion really attracted me.

I.O.: Kavita, in problem where do you go?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, in problem, I discuss it with my mother because she always motivates me to face the problems and to overcome from them. She always says me to step forward.

I.O.: What last problem you discussed with your mother?

Ch. No. 6: As my exam of M.Sc. is not completed and the date is also not fixed, so because of this I was quite worried so my mother make me relax and advice me to concentrate over my interview.

I.O.: Ok, Kavita if I ask you about your two qualities so what will you say.

Ch. No. 6: Sir, I am very co-operative and courageous.

I.O.: How can you say that you are courageous?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, whatever the situation come in front of me. I face them boldly and I think being a civilian I have chosen Army as a career. It is itself a strong decision.

I.O.: If you are not selected then what would you do?

Ch. No. 6: Sir, I will make it this time because I am very sure but if not, then I will try again.

I.O.: Ok, tells me about your two reasons of disqualification?

Ch. No. 6: My hand writing is not good and communication in English is not up to the mark. I think I and lacking in these two.

I.O.: Ok, Kavita wish you all the best?

Guys if you are thinking of Personal INterview in SSB, what types of Questions asked in SSB Interview and how should we answers in Persnal interview round in SSB, then go threw this post this will help you alot.

l.O.: Good Morning Prateek.

Ch. No. 18: Good Morning Sir.

I.O.: Please have a seat No. 18.

Ch. No. 18: Thank you sir.

I.O.: So, Prateek you are from Meerut, tell me about Meerut.

Ch. No. 18: Sir, Meerut is a district, located at 60 km distance from Delhi. Sir, historically Meerut is known as the Sasural of Ravana. Sir, it was also the initiator of revolt of 1857. It is also rich in tradition.

I.O.: (interrupting) Ok Prateek now tell me about your education from class 8th? Tell me about your co-curricular activities and the games which you play?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, I studied my 8th, 9th and 10th class from the same school, i.e. K.V. Sikh Lines, Meerut. Sir, I scored 90.8 percent in my matriculate with distinction in all the five subjects.

I.O.: (interrupting) Prateek tell me your class 8th and 9th percentages also?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, I scored 88 percent in my 8th class and 89 percent in my 9th class.

I.O.: Ok Prateek, carry on.

Ch. No. 18: Sir, I was an active participant in co-curricular activities in my school. I participated in Kabir Peace Mission in 8th class and stood first in my school.

I.O.: (interrupting) What is this Kabir Peace Mission Prateek?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, it is a quiz competition in which the questions are asked mainly on history, Ramayana and Mahabharata.

I.O.: Ok, carry on Prateek, that’s why I think you know about Ravan’s Sasural?

Ch. No. 18: Yes sir, besides this, I participated in Green Olympiad in 9tha and 8th class and stood second in school. Sir in this science quiz takes place. Sir I also participated in youth parliament in my 10th class in which school students make their own parliament. Besides that I also participated in debate and extempore in my 8th and 9th and 10th class consecutively and every time held and position. Sir I also participated in cricket team in my 9tha and 10th class at school level.

I.O.: Prateek, you didn’t play even at regional level?

Ch. No. 18: sorry sir, I put in my efforts buy still there were better players than me. Sir, after my 10th class, I switched over to Guru Tegh Bahadur Public School because there is scholar section in it which provides coaching in school time only for IIT and while studying for IIT we got to know the concepts more clearly, as I always wanted to have command over the concepts., sir there is participated in National Science Olympiad and also participated in volleyball team at school level.

I.O.: Ok! That’s really nice Prateek, Ok now let’s move out to your family and teachers? Prateek tell me about your parents and teachers you like most and least? Friend you like most and least?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, as far as my parents are considered, I really love them and they also take care me really well. Sir my father is an ex-service man; he is a real motivating force for me to join IAF. He is a very caring person. Sir, my mother is a housewife. She is really very emotional person that’s why I am also very emotional person. Sir about my favorite teacher, its Mrs. Summi Singh, she was my motivating force to join IAF; she really takes care of my all class. And Sir there is no teacher I hake, as I like every person. About my friends, I have a big friends circle. My best friend is Sudhanshu.

I.O.: Prateek tell me about the qualities which you find in friends and what are the qualities in yourself which attracted them towards you?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, Sudhanshu is a very good person. He always helps me. Sudhanshu has very similar likings to that of mine so we understand each other really very well. And sir about me, I think I am a friend who is always there of my friends whenever they need help.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek do you have any girlfriend?

Ch. No. 18: No sir, I don’t have any girlfriend?

I.O.: Why? You are studying in a co-education school still you are not having any girlfriend. Why?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, my first target is to achieve my aim to get into Air Force. After that I will consider these things. Moreover, girlfriends need very large amount of money to be spend over them and I am not spend thrift.

I.O.: That’s true Prateek; they really need a huge amount of money. Ok, tell me about your more friends? What do you in your leisure time with your friends?

Ch. No. 18: Sir besides Subhanshu, there are Prashant, and Arvind, we have discussions on various topics. In leisure time we also go to watch movies also, but we watch only social issue based movies? Sir.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek these two girls Indra and Pooja never attracted you towards them?

Ch. No. 18: No sir, we are just friends and nothing more, and no one of us has this type of feeling on our minds.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek now tell me about your one good and one bad quality?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, in my good qualities, I really very soon understand the expectation of others which they have from me, that’s why I easily adjust with everyone, and in my bad qualities, I am bit short tempered, Sir which I want to improve and working on it.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek tell me about any instance where you’re this bad quality rose up?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, once we were having group discussion and suddenly they, my friends Sudhanshu and Prashant, started cracking jokes on me and I loose my temper after some time and got back to my home. After that they called me and make me understand that it’s not good and also said they will not repeat if I don’t like. (The Interviewing Officer tried best to loosen my temper.)

I.O.: Ok, Prateek now tell me about your hobbies and interests?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, in my hobbies there are photography, reading, and feeding birds. And as my interests are considered there are visiting orphanages and watching F-1 races.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek how do you feed birds and perform photography.

Ch. No. 18: Sir, everyday I put on some water and rice top of my roof to feed the birds. And in photography, wherever there is in any function in my family I perform the role of photographer, and whenever I got to any tour I took photographs of natural scenes. And also when there is rainy season and clouds are there, I also take those pictures.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek what about you’re reading?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, I read newspaper The Times of India, read two magazines namely India today and Competition Success Review. I also read short stories of Sherlock Holmes and novels of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek what about this hobby visiting orphanage, it’s really very-very strange.

Ch. No. 18: sir, I have hobby of visiting orphanages as I want to help the kids who have no parents and also I want to help the country with its future. Sir, I visit Jyotini an orphanage twice a month. Sir, I take candies for them and teach them some lessons for some time. They also pay respectable attention to me.

I.O.: Ok, Prateek but what about the rag pickers, who are there on roads, aim and they the future of the country?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, they are the future. But as I am not having so much power to take these kids to my home from roads. I try to help them on roads only by providing them with food and meal instead of giving them money which is always contributed in the circle of this evil practice.

I.O.: Good Prateek, ok do you know about the Paraguay why is it famous?

Ch. No. 18: Sir, Paraguay is a country in South America and it is famous for Pampa’s grassland in South America (I was not sure why it was famous).

I.O.: Ok, do you know about Article 370?

Ch. No. 18: Yes sir, in this the law passed by Union Government are applicable to all states except J&K where it is applicable only when it passed by assembly of J&K.

I.O.: Ok, tells me about naxalites?

Ch. No. 18: Sir these are SC and ST people who criticize the government policies and demand for special rights for SC and ST. But the path adopted by them of violence is not correct.

I.O.: Ok, thank you Prateek, and all the best for your conference?

Ch. No. 18: Thanks you sir. (Shook hands when I was coming out.)

I.O.: Prateek, I thought that I was talking to a member of NGO. That’s good.

Ch. No. 18: Thank you sir.

Reading Session Self Awareness Set-1

I.O.: Welcome Gurjeet, have a seat. Ok Gurjeet, I saw pens in your pocket which pen are you carrying?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I am using Parker?

I.O.: Sir, it is from Paris.

Ch. No. 8: Where is Paris?

I.O.: Basically, Paris is in which country?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, it is in France.

I.O.: What is France famous for?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, no idea.

I.O.: Think, it is something girls use very often?

Ch. No. 8: Sir perfumes!

I.O.: Yes, of course. Ok what is Paris famous for?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I have no idea.

I.O.: It is famous for fashion.

Ch. No. 8: Ok sir. Sorry I didn’t know it.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, be comfortable. Sit comfortably and relax. Now, we will share some conversations between us and I want to assure you that whatever we talk will remain inside this room and between you and me. No one will come to know about it. Your family will not be told anything.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, now I will put you through rapid fire questions, hear them attentively and make sure you answer all questions.

I.O.: tell me about your academic qualifications, the exams you have taken, your achievements in academics, games and sports you play, your hobbies, and your extracurricular activities, the teacher/teachers you dislike and why, the friend/friends you dislike and why, the friend with whom you are closest.

Ch. No. 8: I told him all things and answered all questions.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, have you answered all questions?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir

I.O.: Are you sure?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir.

I.O.: Ok, you said that you have appeared in Engineering Entrance Exams. Why did you not go for engineering then?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, actually I wanted to change my subject like from engineering to MBA because I was not confident with physics and chemistry.

I.O.: So, why did you take Entrance Exams for it?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, actually my parents wanted me to appear once for the Entrance Exam.

I.O.: But you didn’t want to?

Ch. No. 8: No sir, its not that I didn’t want to. What happened was that my parents told me to appear once for exam. If I got a good score then I could go for engineering else I could change my subjects.

I.O.: Ok, how much did you score?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, 40000 rank (all India) in AIEEE and 10,000 in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprashtha University examination.

I.O.: So, you are private MBA now from which university?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, from Symbiosis University, Pune.

I.O.: Why are you doing private MBA and why not regular.

Ch. No. 8: Sir, because I wanted to give more focus to CDS. If I would have gone for regular MBA, moreover, army is the first priority and MBA comes later.

I.O.: What is the difference between regular and private?

Ch. No. 8: Regular MBA is one where you physically go and attend the classes whereas in private MBA one doesn’t have to attend the classes regularly. You are required to go and take the exams finally.

I.O.: Is there any difference in knowledge area?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir, in regular MBA, a person gets theoretical as well as practical knowledge through projects and case studies. But in private MBA, a person is able to gain only the theoretical knowledge.

I.O.: Does this concept have any affect on the working area?

Ch. No. 8: No sir, the working areas don’t get affected by the concept because the private course of three years is equivalent to the regular course of two years.

I.O.: But a person with private MBA, of course, gets an added advantage in a job.

Ch. No. 8: No sir, actually where in the difference lies is the mindset of the people. Regular MBA just gibes an advantage of an added practical knowledge, but private MBA is considered equivalent but lacks application.

I.O.: Are the hobs different from both categories?

Ch. No. 8: No sir, the jobs don’t vary.

I.O.: Ok, tell me what all books have you read?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I have read One Night at the call Centre by Chetan Bhagat, The Three Mistake of My Life again by Chetan Bhagat, Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat and Who will cry When You Die?” by Robin S. Sharma and now, I have just started with The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma.

I.O.: What was the name of the girl character in Five Point Someone?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, the name of the character was Neha.

I.O.: Tell me one good quality and one bad quality about the character Neha.

Ch. No. 8: The good quality about the character was the friendly nature of Neha. The first time she met with an accident with male character, she was quite friendly with him?

I.O.: She must have thought that she has found her prey! (Laughing)

Ch. No. 8: No sir, not prey. Actually varies from person to person, how tp react in certain situations.

I.O.: And what was the bad quality?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, the bad quality about Neha was her irresponsibility. She called her boyfriend to her place when her parents were not at home.

I.O.: But she was in love and in love, nothing is right or wrong!

Ch. No. 8: But sir that doesn’t mean that she will cheat her parents and cross the limit of being genuine. Cheating your parents is absolutely wrong.

I.O.: Gurjeet do you have a boyfriend?

Ch. No. 8: No sir.

I.O.: Why?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I have many friends but no boyfriend as such.

I.O.: Why don’t you have a boyfriend? A boy doesn’t have a girlfriend so they have a reason for that because they don’t want to spend their money on gifts, parties, dimmers, etc. sometimes the girlfriend brings her friend with her. So the boy has to pay for her also. But why don’t you have a boyfriend?

Ch. No.8: Sir, I don’t have a boyfriend because I am a goal-oriented person. I don’t want to waste my time in all these matters. These things distract a person’s attention. I just want to concentrate on my career right now.

I.O.: So you have many boys as your friends. Name them.

Ch. No. 8: Sir, they are Sachin, Gaurav, Subodh and many others.

I.O.: Has any one of them ever proposed you?

Ch. No. 8: No, Sir.

I.O.: Suppose, in future, if they do so?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I will surely refuse.

I.O.: Gurjeet, did you hear about a case in Meerut two year back in company garden?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir.

I.O.: What do you think about that? Is moral policing right or wrong?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, whatever happened there was wrong on part of the people and the police also. As far as moral policing is concerned, it should not be there.

I.O.: But in today’s scenario, both the parents are working, so who will control all these social problems?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, if the parents are working and unable to instill these ethics in the children then of course, it is the sole responsibility of the individual to see and know what is good and what is bad. A person should know the limits and the boundaries so as not to get into such things.

I.O.: But, if then also, they cross the limits and get into such acts, then?

Ch. No. 8: At that, time, moral policing should be there but in a controlled manner because the way they handle such acts is not good. The people have to go through a lot of torture.

I.O.: What else, you did not tell me the most important quality, your instructor must have told you.

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir, but I feel courage is the most important quality.

I.O.: No, you are missing the most important one. Ok I will ask you in the conference. Tell me any two important current news.

Ch. No. 8: Firstly, India and Russia are set to sign the nuclear deal and secondly, FBI is about to arrive in India to investigate the David Coleman Headley case.

I.O.: What is happening in Pakistan?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, the Taliban group wants to occupy the region of South Waziristan and several other parts. So they are planning many suicide attacks and spreading terrorism.

I.O.: What is global warming?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, global warming is the rise in the temperature of the earth due to the rise in the concentration of the greenhouse gases.

I.O.: What are greenhouse gases?

Ch. No. 8: Greenhouse gases are CO2, NO2, Chlorofluoro carbons. These are responsible for the greenhouse effect.

I.O.: What is greenhouse effect?

Ch. No. 8: It is the effect which is caused when the increased concentration of the greenhouse gases traps the harmful infra red radiations emitted by earth after reflection.

I.O.: Why does the radiation get trapped inside the atmosphere?

Ch. No. 8: The greenhouse gases trap them and don’t allow them to leave the atmosphere.

I.O.: Then how do the radiations enter the atmosphere?

Ch. No. 8: (confused) sorry sir.

I.O.: Ok, tell me about how you spend time with your family, whom do you tell your problems, what is your pocket money and how do you dispose it of?

Ch. No. 8: Most of the time I spend with my mother in the kitchen o other household work. When my father is at home, we generally discuss about the current topics. My brother is here with us only on Saturday and Sunday. So, Saturday and Sunday are totally reserved for him. We talk ad share all the activities we had done throughout the week. In terms of problems, I share them with my brother.

I.O.: (Interrupting) why?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, because we are of the same generation. We understand each other well and of course we share a very friendly relationship. So that’s why I find it comfortable to discuss them with my brother. Moreover, he gives me a better suggestion and advice according to the situation because telling the problems to your parent’s means upsetting them. My parents are very conscious about me. So, if I face any problem, they get worried and upset. So, I discuss them with my brother.

I.O.: How elder is your brother to you?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, five years.

I.O.: That means he is 26 years now. Is he married?

Ch. No. 8: No sir.

I.O.: Why?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, he wants to establish himself well and wants to be in a perfect position to support his family and personal life.

I.O.: So when does he want to marry?

Ch. No. 8: May be by next year.

I.O.: Do you want to marry?

Ch. No. 8: No sir.

I.O.: Why?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, because I want to achieve my aim and have my own identity. After marriage, a girl faces many restrictions from the in-laws.

I.O.: But if the in-laws say that there are no restrictions, then?

Ch. No. 8: But sir, a married woman has many responsibilities towards her family. Also, they should know that our culture does not allow harsh behavior with women.

I.O.: Ok, also homosexuality has been legalized by the Delhi Court. So is this right or wrong?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, in my opinion, this is absolutely wrong. Homosexuality is something against the nature. We are insulting nature by merely getting into such acts. Homosexuality is something which is just the westernized form. This kind of thing was not observed in our culture before.

I.O.: But westernization has not affected the people. This is something which is in the hormones of the person.

Ch. No. 8: That is right sir. But homosexuality is going against the nature. The nature has made man and woman for this relation. But homosexuality surely creates an imbalance in the nature.

I.O.: Ok, you have participated in many competitions. What according to you is the strongest part of your G.K Quiz?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, I had a good general knowledge that helped me to participate and win.

I.O.: Suppose, the president had given you the responsibility to organize a GK Quiz competition between 101 SSB and 102 SSB. So, how will you organize it?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, firstly I will prepare a blue print of the whole event, i.e. the date, time and place, the no. of teams, the no. of participants, the chief guests, the judges, the audience, etc. after that, I will put a notice on the notice board informing the candidates about the competition and invite them for the same. I will also make a plan of the various rounds and the questions to be asked.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, on the day of the competition, suppose you reach the hall and find no one there, and then what will you do?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, then I will make sure that they are there on time.

I.O.: How?

Ch. No. 8: I will assign the duty 2-3 of my subordinates for the same.

I.O.: Then, they will surely say that who are you to force us to participate in the competition. Then how will you convince them?

Ch. No. 8: (After thinking a lot) sorry sir, I am not getting the right idea at this moment.

I.O.: OK, don’t worry. You watch discovery channel?

Ch. No. 8: Basically, I only watch animal planet.

I.O.: Then tell me what the difference between a tiger and a lion?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, both belong to the cat family.

I.O.: Yes, but what makes a lion as the king of the jungle? He is known as the king of the jungle, why?

Ch. No. 8: Sorry sir, I don’t know I will definitely checkup and find the right answer.

I.O.: Actually, I saw it on this show only.

Ch. No. 8: Sorry sir may be I must have missed it.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, have you taken coaching for preparing for SSB?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir.

I.O.: From where?

Ch. No. 8: From Universal Counselling Centre.

I.O.: Where is it?

Ch. No. 8: In Meerut.

I.O.: Who runs it?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, Lt Col Rajeev Devgan.

I.O.: As you have taken coaching, you must know the qualities that are required in a lady to join the Armed Forces?

Ch. No. 8: Sir, first of all courage is required because Army requires a lot of courage and women generally lack that, then they should be lively, should have a detremination, they should have the quality of making a quick decision. And work for herself and her goals. So, there is, of course some limitation.

I.O.: Ok, tell me the neighbouring countries of India.

Ch. No. 8: Sir, they are Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, China, and Nepal.

I.O.: Is anything left?

Ch. No. 8: No sir.

I.O.: Is Afghanistan neighbour of India?

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir, it is, but it is not considered.

I.O.: Yes, right. If we look at it map-wise, it is a neighbour of India but otherwise it is not. It is generally the area of POK known as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir area.

Ch. No. 8: Yes sir.

I.O.: Ok Gurjeet, thank you so much, good day and all the best tomorrow’s task.

Ch. No. 8: Thank you sir.

Comments

Gurjeet is generally well prepared and has a good capacity to sustain protracted stress and strain during the course of the personal interview. The questions have been correctly answered but shows lack of general awareness and could have performed well with more reasoning and logic. Gurjeet should have shown more confidence in parents rather than brother’s and sister’s. There should have been more compatibility within the family which is lacking. The data regarding the neighbouring countries should have been well answered. This is a border liner case and with more effort the candidate could have performed better.

Guys this is really important to wear perfect dress on perfect occasion, you are getting a chance to go for SSB Interview then why to compromise with cloths just buy some branded clothes from the market and let me tell you some points you should focus upon for dressing up for your SSB Interview and some points about your posture and walking gait.

Dressing Tips for SSB Interview

What do I wear and when?

Wear clothes which are right for the impression you want to create.
Avoid anything that might contradict that impression.
Consider all aspects of appearance, from hair length for men to the amount of make up worn for women.

Unlike the contents of one’s wallet or one’s personal values, clothing is highly visible and is brimming with clues about the wearer’s background.

Dressing to Win

Wear for the job you want.
Avoid wearing black – it arouses negative emotions : untrustworthy, sinister and potentially violent.
Avoid bright colours, loud checks etc.
Clothes that Suit. Clothes should suit your build.
Criss-cross stripes and ruffles would appear to lend some girth to slim people.
Checks lend dimension to fat people making them look fatter.
Harmony of Colours. Trick is to wear few colours at a time so that they blend and harmonise with each other. Colours should compliment one’s complexion.
Women should wear only mild perfume.
Preferably don’t carry anything in the top pocket.
Unlike in theatre or art organisation, a beard or long hair do not go well with professional or commercial organisations.

A good frame of glasses enhances your looks. Choice depends upon the shape of your nose and face.

Round Face. Frames with straight tops and sides which angle inward to a straight bottom. This strengthens the cheek bone.
Square Face. Slightly rounded or curved frame to lengthen your face.
Oblong Face. Frames with large, wide with straight bottoms and thick rounded sides. These will add width and make features appear shorter and angular.
Diamond Shaped. Wide cheeks and narrow chin can be disguised by glasses which are oval with wide tops and straight sides.
Triangular Shaped. Broad forehead and narrowed chin need to be balanced with light frames with curved bottoms.

Remember for Good Impression Management.

Nails. Dirty, chewed or poorly trimmed fingernails give a very poor impression.
Unhealthy Complexion. Your skin is an accurate reflection of your health. Correct diet and healthy exercise can do much to improve your complexion.
Badly Polished Shoes. Spend some time and money on shoeshine especially back of the heel

How to Improve Your Posture and Walking Gait

SIX STEPS TO THE PERFECT POSTURE

1. Stand upright, shoulders relaxed, arms hanging.
2. Unwind your muscles generally. Do not confuse with ramrod stance of guards on parade.
   3. Tuck in your tail to strengthen the spine. This also draws in the stomach.
   4. Tighten your buttocks and flatten your abdomen as though preparing for a blow.
   5. Drop your shoulders, but keep them at right angles to the ground, neither drooping nor pulled.
   6. Raise the ribcage by drawing the body upwards slightly, keeping your chin parallel to the floor.

Improve Your Walking Stance

While walking keep your weight slightly forward and move with a flowing stride, swinging your legs from the hips. Imagine that a large hand is applying gentle pressure to your bottom. Instead of pulling yourself by lifting the knees too high (which is how an average person walks), push yourself forward from the ‘center’ of the body, the abdomen.

Field marshal: A SPECIAL RANK IN INDIAN ARMY

India has a field marshal rank, but it is mostly honorary. It does not currently exist in the army organizational structure; however, two officers were conferred with this rank, namely the late Field Marshal Manekshaw and the late Field Marshal Kodandera Madappa Cariappa.

A field marshal, unlike other officers, does not draw a pension. He gets the full pay of a general equal to the Chief of the Army Staff until his death. He wears full uniform on all official occasions and runs an office in army headquarters. He also has a dedicated secretariat of his own.

Coast Guard officers

The officers in the Coast Guard have the same rank structure as the Central Armed Police Forces. The director general Coast Guard is usually a vice admiral rank officer on deputation from the Indian Navy.

Officers are appointed in the Coast Guard in one of four branches, as either General Duty officer, Pilot officer, Technical officer or Law officers. Lady Officers have two branches i.e. General Duty officer OR Pilot officer and serve on shore establishments/Air Stations/Headquarters. They are not deployed on board Indian Coast Guard ships
